Patten University’s programs are nationally accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC). DEAC is listed by the U.S. Department of Education as a recognized accrediting agency. DEAC is also recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

Patten University has institutional approval from the California Bureau of Private Postsecondary Education to grant degrees. Approval means that PU is in compliance with state standards set forth in California Education Code Title 3, Division 10, Part 59, Chapter 8.
